A Shabbos Table set for 1500 Students

This past Friday close to 1500 students came together at Binghamton University for one of the largest Friday night meals ever held around the world.

400 pounds of beef, 800 pounds of chicken, and 1,500 bread rolls are some of the number behind this 15thannual shabbos run by Chabad at Binghamton University.

Shabbat 1000 was pioneered by Chabad at Binghamton University in 1996 and is a National Chabad on Campus Initiative.

The project became a role model in dozens of university campuses throughout the world, as many similar events are held each year and where some like chabad of Binghamton changed the name to ‘shabbat 1500’ due to the growing number of participants that swelled over the years.
