Chabad on Call Gathers Together

The Chabad on Call Kinus this past Friday featured practical guidance and inspiration for Shluchim at any stage of a medical center Shlichus. Broadcasted live to Shluchim around the globe, a select group joined in person at the JCM for networking, live panels, and a chance to view new innovative resources.

A lavish breakfast was set out for attendees, while the atrium displayed many customizable resources offered by Chabad on Call for patients, medical staff, and Shluchim.

The event began with opening remarks by Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of Merkos 302. Speaking about our desire to do more and inspire more people as the Rebbe’s Shluchim, he encouraged listeners to take advantage of the resources available and to continue to share ideas for expansion.

Rabbi Rachmiel Rothberger, BCC, Jewish Community Liaison at the Palliative Care Institute of Calvary Hospital, shared a practical approach to end-of-life care, and how to prepare loved ones as much as possible for the emotional and spiritual time of passing. Many Shluchim posed questions and joined in the discussion with personal experiences on the subject.

Prominent Medical Shluchim Rabbi Boruch Wolf, Shliach to the Medical Centers of Long Island, and Rabbi Shimon Partouche, Shliach to Westmount, Canada, shared experiences on creating lasting connections with the hospital and medical staff.

The program concluded with renowned speaker and author Rabbi Shais Taub, who inspired the audience with the importance and resultant simcha of self-care with the wisdom of Chassidus.

“Shluchim were able to network with fellow Medical Center Shluchim, gain from the speakers and panelists, and contribute ideas and experiences to discussions,” said Mrs. Chani Goldberg, Director of Chabad on Call. “That’s what this Kinus is about: refreshing, reconnecting, and reimagining possibilities.”

The Chabad on Call Kinus was part of a joint effort between Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and Rabbi Bentzi Lipskier of the Meromim Foundation to give new Shluchim the proper tools that will empower them on their Shlichus.

Recordings of the event are available on the Chabad on Call website at coc.merkos302.com/chickensoup.
