MyShliach to offer “Remote Access” to Chidon Hamitzvos

“The Great Chidon Challenge”, “Benny Friedman Rocks the Crowd at the Chidon”, “Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists announced”, “Mitzvos Chidon Travels to Montreal”.

Those are just a few of the headlines the annual International Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos generates on a regular basis. There’s no two ways about it, it’s a smashing competition involving Lubavitch boys and girls from schools around the globe culminating with much excitement and fanfare.

The rules are simple and straightforward – right?

The Chidon is an international championship open to all children in Lubavitcher schools grades 4 – 8. Participation entails thorough study of the Sefer HaMitzvos as elucidated in the Yahadus Curriculum. The championship culminates in a tournament between representatives of each school.

That’s right. You have to be in a Lubavitch school. Excluding over 2000 Shluchim’s sons and daughters currently learning in local day schools, non-Lubavitch Chedorim or being home-schooled.

Well, MyShliach is proud to announce that it will be serving as the remote-access point for boys and girls interested in joining Tzivos Hashem’s world-famous Chidon.

Last year, when the Chidon returned for the first time in 7 years MyShliach ran a pilot program with 20 boys from around the states and Canada. They studed the material required for the Chidon via online classes and filled out the necessary tests in online format. 8 of those 20 boys made it to the semi-finals, flying to NY for the Chidon. 1 of those 8 actually won a bronze medal.

“All together” says Rabbi Zushi Rivkin of MyShliach “they proved that you don’t need to be in a brick-and-mortar classroom to compete in the Chidon”.

MyShliach is proud to say that it will be opening participation in the Chidon via its online platform for all 5 grades (4-8) this year. Last year, a pilot of the program was met with great success. Registration can be filled out online at Myshliach.com/Chidon or by emailing Chidon@MyShliach.com. Registration is open through Hoshaana Rabba and classes start the week of Parshas Lech Lecha.
