Hachayol Magazine Goes Weekly

The first issue of Hachayol magazine is hot off the presses just in time for Rosh Hashana 5773. 7,000 copies have been shipped to over 50 Tzivos Hashem bases and more than 700 shluchim’s kids across the globe thanks to the MyShliach organazation.

Featuring the Rebbe’s sichos to children on the parsha in the guise of four siblings who use a time machine called the Parshafier; a Yomei Dipagra calendar full of puzzles, mazes, and games; stories of the Rebbe submitted by Chayolim all around the world; and a niggun of the week to be sung at the Shabbos table; this years Hachayol magazine is back and better than ever. Now, as a weekly publication. “We wanted Chayolim to have all the resources they need to complete the [Chayolei Tzivos Hashem] missions,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, who supervises the project. “Our goal is to make a Chassidishe chinuch as accessible as possible.”

Spearhead of the project, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch, is passionate about Hachayol, and its umbrella organization, Chayolei Tzivos Hashem, because, “our own children need support and encouragement to become the committed Shluchim…of the future.” And with Hashem’s help, Hachayol magazine does just that. As one happy parent affirmed: “there isn’t a right word to describe the tremendous accomplishment and hashpoah that [Hachayol magazine is] having!”

But the magazine is just one weapon in the Chayolei Tzivos Hashem arsenal against the Yetzer Haras of the modern world. The program also includes an elaborate rank and medal system based on mission sheets (where young Chayolim can check off tasks like “I said my quota of daily Tehillim” or “I watched a video of the Rebbe with the proper respect”); Chinese auctions with prizes ranging from a seforim set to a new bike; and global rallies where Chayolim gather for a message from their General–the Rebbe.

Says Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, executive director of Tzivos Hashem: “The Rebbe envisioned an army of children dedicated to Hashem ‘s mission to bring moshiach, and Chayolei Tzivos Hashem is doing just that.”

Hachayol Magazine, a joint project of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and Tzivos Hashem, is made possible by the Rohr Family foundation in honor of Mrs. Sarah Rohr ע”ה.
